RICHARD RODGERS GALA AT KENNEDY CENTER – DVD

On Stage at the Kennedy Center: The Richard Rodgers Gala is a one-hour special showcasing outstanding musical performances celebrating the centennial anniversary of the composerÍs birth. Taped before a live audience on April 14, 2002, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the program is hosted by Shirley Jones.

The program includes performances by Broadway legends Shirley Jones, Howard Keel, Rita Moreno and John Raitt. Also featured is a new generation of Rodgers devotees, including Joshua Bell, Kristin Chenoweth, Audra McDonald, Sylvia McNair and Samuel Ramey. Music Director Leonard Slatkin leads the National Symphony Orchestra. The Washington Chorus also performs, led by Music Director Robert Shafer.
