Dealing with the sorrow of her own personal tragedy Jean Wilson moves into a country home to recuperate. Tom Wilson finds his wife inconsolable and becoming ever more distant as she becomes preoccupied with the former lady of the house, who happens to be the recently deceased wife of famous pianist James Del Palma. Jean’s obsession becomes unhealthy as she becomes certain the spirit of the late Mrs. Del Palma wants her to deliver a message to the grieving husband she has left behind.
